Chaya just returned from traveling to San Diego in the end of July to finally take the plung and go out for American Idol. Many people have encouraged her to do this, and it was finally time to see if that was her fate. . . well, it didn't quite go according to our expectations. After a 5 hour wait on Sat., to register, and a whopping 15 hour wait on Mon. to try out, she went in front of one judge (no not Simon or Paula or Randy - just some casting director) and after 20 sec. of singing was cut off and told, "thank you very much, but I'm going to have to pass". What a drag. . . 20 hrs. of wiating, all to sing 20 sec. of a song and to be told 'bye, go home'. Uuugghhhhh. . . This is vey much a good thing! They were looking for more of TV show cast, not some much a talent competition. . .mmmmmm

Chaya's soultry vocals and popular demand has led to the birth of her new Jazz Trio (The Chaya Jazz Trio). This piano/vocal/guitar Jazz Trio plays a wide variety of standards, 40s-Top 40, and instrumental pieces. Chaya has attracted National Canadian Radio Play. Phoenix 5 Ltd is representing Chaya in Canada and promoting her music to Canadian Radio stations. Since Chaya has gone to 'The Connection' in Nashville there has been some talk about her song 'ANDY' getting radio play, but now it is actually in the proccess. It has been chosen to be on a compilation CD of 'The Connection' artists. We are currently working to re-record this song for the compilation CD and to make it radio-ready. We are hoping that in approx. 2 months it will be ready to give to the radio stations. There are many great people working on this project to make it a 'timeless' song. Please pray with us that God will use it to heal peoples' hearts and give hope.

Chaya was selected out of 4000+ applicants to be a showcase artist @ "The Connection" in Nashville, TN in the end of May, 2005. 'The Connection' is a part of Hearken Studios (www.hearkenstudios.com). There was a great response to Chaya's showcase song, 'Andy'. There were industry people who claimed that this may be the next #1 Inspirational Song! Chaya was very encouraged to hear this.

This is where Chaya is being played on internet radio. She was chosen as the spotlight artist just 3 WEEKS after her debut.
